Historic Fees that are Due NOW!
  • Twice now in the past 12 months we have been caught off guard, with no notification from BoA, with "fees" or some kind of item that we were not aware of that is suddenly urgently due or threats of foreclosure/acceleration. The first they reached into our checking, unannounced, to pay off soemthing from 3  years ago in the amount of $2,500. Hiding behind "Well you owed it...". Then most recently another $250 in "fees" telling us it is for 25 "inspections" of the properly at $10 each. That they can "inspect" as often as they like, without notification or verfication it was actually performed. That is is in our "Note". Which - I'm sure it is - they are scam artists. So be aware that there are likely fees lurking in  your "history" for which you are completely unaware, and will suddenly come due when you least expect it. The $2,500 last summer wiped out our mortgage payment that month and we nearly lost our house because of it - and the fees did not even relate to the mortgage!!! BoA could not suck more. We got 5 different answers today - and my phone system automatically records so even though not admissable in court - wow - shows how truly incompetent they are. Ultimately the CSR transferred us not to the payment department but some random place to just get rid of us. The sad fact is they hide behind it all being legal. Shame on BoA and all who work there. A job is not worth your morals.
  • I have been hounded for days by phone calls that I thought were scammers but was really Bank of America hounding me for $6.00. They finally sent me a FED-X letter
threatening me. I found out why. I evidently was late for a payment in november and
on decembers payment I was $6.00 short of the late fee and they were gonna make my life miserable until I paid it. However, for the last year I have not written a single check and set up another bank to use as my primary bank and they continued charging me $12.00/month for absolutely nothing until I had the last $12.00 in my account and when they depleted it they overdrafted me $100.00 and charged me for the service. I went in to complain and they said....well you should have switched to a different type account and you wouldn't have been charged at all. They wouldn't refund the year's fees and wouldn't drop the $6.00. I hate them.
  • I don't know about the validity of your mortgage complaints but I will inherently doubt that you have the reasons right, and I say this for one simple reason. To me, you seem irresponsible to begin with, and I'll explain why.

The fee of $12 you refer to, is a monthly maintenance fee on a specifici type of account that you maintain and could avoid with a direct deposit. Without that direct deposit yes "that" particular type of account would incur a fee. Does BofA have other accounts that do not incur a fee at all whether or not you have a direct deposit? Yes we do! Do we have other types of accounts that would not incur a fee whether or not you had a balance? Yes we do! Do other banks? Probably not!

But you see if you say this has gone on for months what that truly means is that YOU do not take the time to open your statements that tell you what the fee is month after month and how to avoid it, and YOU do not take the time to check your balance and activity on the phone or online banking to see what is coming out of your account and then months and months later, you say "they took my money!"

You know check your statement at BofA or any other bank and you're with now that states you need to bring something that you disagree with to the financial institutions attention within 60 days of receipt of your statement. Most banks (big or small) hold to that steadfast, but at BofA an associate has the ability, to refund up to 3 months and in some cases can go up to 6 months depending on circumstances. Beyond that--nope!

And if BofA overdrew you due to fees it was not $100 trust me. That means YOU then issued an item on an account you had not funded and incurred a fee, or perhaps you thought you did have the funds but had not checked in months or months to see the status of the account. That's the bank's fault? Really? Hmmmmm sounds a bit irresponsible to me!
  • I thoroughly enjoy how B of A has fostered a culture of apologetics in its henchmen.  They got to be paying these people to cover EVERY discussion with asinine explanations...any explanation other than the truth about the under-handed tactics of Satan's bank.  Like how B of A bought up all the "B of A sucks it" and similar domain names.  Wouldn't ethical business practices be easier?

It's cool, X and Cherry...we'll take our "irresponsible" selfs to almost any other institution and be better off.

B of A is NEVER going to forget the $6 and associated "fees."  They will hound you forever and when they tire, they'll sell the "debt" off to a collection agency chain that will never end.  The collection agencies they use are the few entities on the planet less ethical than B of A!
