I agree that this bank's practices of 'assisting' people seeking help in troubling times is a scam and is misleading. BofA has caused me to have to file Bankruptcy and have lied to me over and over and over again. I have been dealing with them for a year to try to get a modification. They told me I had to miss 4 payments before they could help. When I did, they put me on a 6 month payment plan where the other half of the payment that was not getting paid was going toward my 'now' deliquent account. After paying on time for the 6 months, they entered my information for a modification. After sending the same information to them 4 times, they denied my request because I didn't send in paperwork requested. When asked what paperwork, they could not give an answer and said I could send a current check stub to re-open my mod app. I sent the check stub and 3 weeks later received a call that they will need more information from me, but the account manager didn't know what info I would need to send, so she said she would call me in a couple of days to tell me. (Then why the h311 did she call). She said she wanted to review some info. She said, "So, you didn't have a job when you applied, do you have one now?" I told her that she should know I have a job because I have sent them check stubs for the past 10 months and when I applied I most certainly had a job and I still have the same job. She said "oh. Well, we will probably need check stubs, so I will call you in a few days to tell you exactly what we need."
So here I am...filed for Bankruptcy because they caused me to be $4800 behind and WILL not get their stuff together to modify my loan.
Where are the lawyers who would like to take this bank down with a lawsuit? Their practices are that of master-minded thieves and their doors should be closed immediately.
I hate this bank and tell everyone I know NOT to use them for ANYTHING. They have screwed me in every way....from my checking account, savings account, mortgage and even on a claim from when my house caught fire. They have screwed me in every account I have had with them.

I worked at bank of america for 5 years, and have recently quit. I honestly hate the bank. But I also dislike the public. I read your petition and was gonna sign it because I thought it was real. However your are complaining about something really stupid. As I dealt with this all the time. If you request a modification - you can no longer pay using the mortgage pay option. However you can still pay using the bill pay option  or if you have a bank of america account you can use transfer funds option. SO the only one thing you can't do is use mortgage pay... So people would complain all the time over something so stupid. Grow up! and Find a way to pay. You can pay online 2 out of 3 ways, and if u need help Ill help you. U can pay in person, You can pay by mail. And Finally you can pay by phone with out an account for 15.00 - So want to save money try one of the numerous payment alternatives. ..that said, screw bank of america! Anyone have a valid complaint Ill be happy to sign your petition 

Exactly--clueless wonders! Wah! Wah! I cant log onto the website so I'm not going to pay and ruin my modification. I've listened to calls were the clueless wonders (who are told in advance that they can't use mortgage pay on the web) call the very very very last day their payment is due and complain they can't get online and want the rep to reach their modification officer at 8:30 PM and they act as if they have no clue in hell (clueless remember) that they can pay over the phone, they can mail in the payment, they can take it to a Bank of America branch (and in some cases home loan center), they can do a transfer from their checking to their mortgage, they can log onto their OWN banks' online banking and do a bill pay into Bank of America---and and and.. And its the last day, and they are about to screw up their modification program for something they have been told in advance they will NOT be able to do.

Oh wait!! Remember?? They don't open anything that comes in the mail no matter how big the envelope or the package!
